Mother and Son Sports would most likely not exist without everything my Mom and Dad did for me when I was a kid growing up. I loved sports at a very young age and my Mom and Dad did everything possible to make sure my dreams came true. They are still my number one fans today so below is how I would like to say thanks!!
Thanks Mom and Dad for:
1. Driving back and forth to thousands of practices.
2. Catching countless pitches for ten years.
3. Signing me up for Hot Shot ( this ended up in me shooting at halftime of a Pistons game)
4. Making me practice thirty shots in front of the basket so I didn’t screw up my form.
5. Teaching me how to shoot.
6. Coming out (when you were cooking dinner) and watching me perfect another basketball move.
7. Not telling me I was weird when I made up basketball routines to music.
8. Accepting the fact that I was a “tomboy” and the last time you got me in a dress was when I was three.
9. Introducing me to the movie Hoosiers.
10. Showing me the Steve Alford video, and encouraging me to keep practicing.
11. Learning about sports and watching countless sporting events with me, even though you probably would have rather gone shopping :).
12. Coming to the Michigan basketball camp when I wanted to go home because I was homesick.
13. Paying for the new gloves, the new basketball, the new shoes, the new whatever, year after year after year.
14. Being as upset as I was when we lost.
15. Being as ecstatic as I was after a win.
16. Putting up with my bad sportsmanship when I was older (not proud of this).
17. Sitting on bleachers, in the cold, in the rain, in 100 degree heat, and cheering like there was no tomorrow.
18. For not being upset when I shaved the back of my head because it was a TEAM thing.
19. For the late nights after a varsity basketball game, when you had to get up early the next morning for work.
20. For helping me pursue my dream, and never giving up on me!
Thank you Mom and Dad!
