Old School Gaming

About a month ago I had the pleasure of shopping at the Warehouse of one of South Bend’s hidden treasures Junk Evolution.

Upon entering the Warehouse I immediately spotted a vintage foosball table and it was foosball table 003love at first sight. I had always wanted a foosball table as a kid and and I knew that Kaden would be all in.

I tried to keep my excitement in check since I was in fact in the Warehouse and knew that bargaining was a possibility. I slowly walked over to the table and tentatively lifted up the price tag……………………$25. My heart leaped and I quickly asked the owner if it indeed was for sale.

Of course it was for sale and without hesitation I stated “I want to look around a little more, but I will take it.” After finding a few more treasures I paid the $25 and proudly loaded the table into the trunk of my car.

Kaden, who was with his grandparents for the weekend came home Sunday night to a foosball table 001vintage foosball table in the living room. He was very excited and we immediately played a game to ten, all of the levers working properly and the soccer men in perfect form.

It’s since been a few weeks and Kaden and I play regularly, and are talking about having some tournaments. Kaden is an avid gamer and loves the Wii but I have to say that the foosball table is taking the cake right now. Proving that sometimes a little bit of vintage can be refreshing in this modern fast paced world.

The Foosball Table will go down as my prize purchase for 2013 and to think it was a measly $25. The Wii, and Xbox 360 are great but it seems that Kaden and I are doing more bonding with the foosball table! What more could a mom ask for!
